Moscow State Gallery of A. Shilov

The gallery was opened in 1997 based on the collection of 355 paintings and graphic arts gifted by the outstanding modern artist A. Shilov to his motherland. The portrait gallery of the master refrects the life of Russia in the last third of XX century and the beginning of XXI century. A. Shilov follows the best traditions of classical realistic art, demonstrates the highest standard of mastership, and declares the ideals of humanism and spiritual beauty.

The gallery collection is permanently growing with the new works of the artist, and currently incorporates more than 800 paintings and graphic arts. The harmony of art, architecture and low sounded classical music produces the atmosphere of spirituality and beauty. On Saturday evenings, the music concerts take place. There is a comfortable café.

The capital and gateway city to Myanmar. Yangon is known for its glittering pagodas and picturesque lake.

The National Museum, which is on Pansodan Street, is known for its massive 80m high gilded Lion Throne, used by King Thibaw, the last monarch.

Yangon also has a fine open-air market and the extensive Boyoke Market is always worth a visit.

Luang Prabang, 40 minutes by air, is worth exploring: the Pak Ou limestone cave has hundreds of Buddha images and the Tat She waterfalls is breath-taking.
