Wine drinking is about lifestyle. In most European countries it is part of the culture to have wines with meals and a Singapore more people are consuming this “drink of the gods”. Wine consumtion has grown at a rate of 10 per cent annually over the past six years with women taking the lead, preferring wine over beer and hard liquor.
Many Asians have regarded wine consumtion as an expensive indulgence. This perception, however, has been changing as wine prices become relatively inexpensive and affordable. When taken in moderation, red wine in particular, helps to lower the cholesterol level, prevent heart disease as well as aid in the digestive process.
