Exotic Manado is situated on the island of Sulawesi or what was formerly the Celebes. Sulawesi is divided into four regions – Minahasa, Bolaang Mongondow, Gorontalo and Sangihe Talaud. Manado is the capital city of the North Sulawesi region, with a population of 250.000 residing in the city and its surrounding areas.
The landscape is a contrast of tropical rainforests, rambling hills, volcanic craters and unspoilt islands with breath-takingly beautiful coral and some 300.000 varieties of fish.
