Wildlife – Flora Fauna

No visit to Kerala would be complete without a visit to at least one of the fourteen wildlife sanctuaries where magnificent beasts roam freely and rare birds settle amidst the treetops.

Bird watchers will find a visit to Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary especially rewarding between November and march when many migratory species, including the night heron, the golden backed woodpecker and the white-breasted water pie, settle here for the winter.
